What we collect
While browsing, we track products viewed, general location/IP address/browser type (for estimating taxes and shipping), and any shipping address you enter for an order estimate. Cookies keep track of cart contents while you shop.
When you purchase, we collect your name, billing and shipping addresses, email, phone number, and payment details, plus optional account info (username/password). This is used to:

We do not collect or retain credit card numbers or PayPal account details — payment handling goes through secure third-party gateways and is never stored on our servers.
If you create an account, we store your name, address, email, and phone number to pre-fill future checkouts. We generally keep this information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected — order records, for example, are kept for at least 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.
Who has access
Our team members can access order and customer information (what was purchased, when, where it should ship, and your contact details) to fulfill orders, process refunds, and provide support.
What we share
We share payment information with payment gateways (PayPal, Stripe) and shipping details with carriers (USPS, FedEx, DHL, UPS) as needed to complete your order. We may share your name and email with our newsletter provider if you’ve signed up.
Support forum members need only supply an email address and first/last name; anything else on a forum profile is optional. If a registered user asks us to remove their registration details, we’ll do so once we’ve verified the request — their forum posts revert to "Guest" status, though the posts themselves remain at our discretion.
Data storage
Our website runs on WordPress under Ubuntu, hosted on our own dedicated server at a private US location, accessed only via encrypted key from a narrow range of IP addresses. Data is occasionally moved to other storage media strictly for testing and development, and is never shared outside the Tortuga Audio team.

Links from tortugaaudio.com lead to sites beyond our control, with their own privacy practices — this policy doesn’t extend to them. We encourage reading the privacy policy of any site you follow a link to.
